The estimate assumes identical rectangular design footprints arranged in a regular grid. Transparent corners, mixed sizes and true-shape placements can produce a different real result.

THE FORMULA
Usable width determines columns; quantity determines rows
Usable width is the roll width minus both edge margins. The calculator fits as many design widths plus gaps as possible across that space.
Rows are the required quantity divided by columns, rounded up. Estimated length includes every row and the gaps between rows plus top and bottom margins.
- Columns = floor((usable width + gap) ÷ (design width + gap))
- Rows = ceiling(quantity ÷ columns)
- Length = rows × height + row gaps + edge margins
