DTF Artwork File Requirements
Use finished artwork with intentional transparency, enough source pixels for the final physical size, and a format your workflow can decode. Fill My Film accepts PNG, JPG, WEBP, SVG, PDF, AI, PSD and TIFF, then exports the assembled sheet as a PNG.
PHYSICAL SIZE
Decide the print dimensions before judging resolution
Resolution is the relationship between pixels and inches. A 3,000-pixel-wide image contains 300 pixels per inch at 10 inches wide, but only 150 pixels per inch at 20 inches wide.
Set the intended physical width for each design and inspect artwork quality at that size.
- Final inches determine effective DPI
- Do not upscale just to create a larger file
- Keep text and small details legible at print size
TRANSPARENCY
Only the intended design area should print
PNG and several design formats can preserve transparency. JPG does not; its background is always opaque. Remove unwanted background pixels before building the sheet.
True-shape nesting relies on the printable silhouette. Hidden haze, stray pixels or an unintended background can enlarge that silhouette and reduce packing efficiency.
- Inspect edges against a contrasting background
- Remove stray pixels outside the design
- Do not assume white is transparent
